Creator of popular cartoon to host workshop
Joe Aaron, co-creator of the television cartoon “Doug,” will hold a screenwriting workshop Sept. 22 in the Reynolds Recital Hall from 1-3 p.m.
Aaron will discuss a variety of topics, including writing for film, creating characters and crafting a story. The workshop is free and open to the public.
Since graduating from Harding in 1983, Aaron has worked for Children’s Television Workshop, HBO, Cinemax, Comedy Central and E! and earned his M.F.A. from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles in 2011. Aaron’s projects include “Doug,” a children’s cartoon from the 1990s; “Doug’s 1st Movie;” and “Crazy Jones,” a feature film that won best feature at the Cinequest International Film Festival. He has also written several short films and is currently working on “Guttersnipes,” a feature film to be shot in central Arkansas.
