Department chair nominated as fellow in the American College of Clinical Pharmacy
Julie Kissack, Pharm.D., chair of the department of pharmacy practice at Harding University, has been nominated as a 2012 fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP).
Kissack will be honored for her work and productivity toward the field of clinical pharmacy at the 2012 ACCP annual meeting Oct. 21-24 in Hollywood, Fla. The meeting will celebrate the fellows and offer educational programming on current issues, professional development sessions and networking opportunities.
“I was very elated and honored that my peers feel that I have been productive in this field of clinical pharmacy,” Kissack said. A member of the Harding faculty since 2008, Kissack is the first member to be nominated for this honor.
The ACCP awards fellowship to individuals who have made significant contributions to the organization and who have demonstrated outstanding performance in clinical pharmacy and/or research. When fellows are nominated, they must meet an extensive set of criteria in order for an individual to receive fellowship. Nominees then send in an application to be approved by the ACCP Board of Regents.
“I am very proud that Dr. Kissack has risen to a point in her career of being able to meet these criteria and it is certainly an honor for her to have been recognized in this fashion,” Dr. Julie Hixson-Wallace, dean of the College of Pharmacy, said. “I believe she is an excellent example of the caliber of faculty we are fortunate to have in the college of pharmacy.”
