National Leadership Forum

2007 Speakers

 

Dean Sikes created the Spirit of America Foundation, a corporation dedicated to cultivating and preserving the fundamental principles upon which the United States is founded. Today he travels from coast to coast presenting a positive message to Americans from all walks of life.

 

Dr. Bob Reely came to Harding University in 1980 where he is a Professor of Management, Associate Executive Director of American Studies Institute, Dean of Life-Long Learning.

 

Andrew Baker is the Executive Director for the Institute for Church and Family at Harding, a job that constantly places him in positions of leadership.  His is helping many to dream of Godly service and Christ-like living, and giving them the tools to realize those dreams.

 

Ken Purser is the Regional Field Service Director for the Tennessee Farm Bureau in Southeast Tennessee. He serves his community in a variety of ways including the Economic Development Council’s Education Foundation Board and the Rhea County Farm City Day.

 

Pat Socia has presentations that are hard-hitting, straightforward, filled with true stories and humor. Teens are challenged to Walk the Sexual Freedom Road -free of STPs (Sexually Transmitted Pains of the heart, mind, and soul), and STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases).

 

John Foppe was born without arms and has faced unique obstacles to living a normal life. But he has always had an indomitable perspective on life-a perspective that empowers him to be a creative problem-solver. While the sight of how he tackles life with his toes will amaze you, once you hear his message, you will not be looking at him – You will be looking at yourself.

 

Princella Smith is a dynamic young leader from Arkansas who was the Youth Convention Speaker at the Republican National Convention in 2004 by winning MTV’s national “Stand Up and Holla” contest. She appeared on MTV, CNN, Fox, and CBS Morning Show.

 

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman is the director of the Killology Research Group in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He is one of the world’s foremost experts in the field of human aggression and the roots of violence and violent crime. He is an Airborne Ranger Infantry officer, and a prior-service sergeant and paratrooper.

 

Deena Burnett is the widow of Tom Burnett, a passenger on United Airlines Flight93 on September 11, 2001. Tom organized a group of passengers and crew members to storm the cockpit in an effort to reclaim the airplane. Through their action the plane crashed in a Pennsylvania field rather than its intended target of the White House. Deena has become a well known voice for the victims’ families of September 11.
