These students seek non-music degrees and have diverse backgrounds: some have had no piano or music instruction, some have had a few years (maybe in elementary school), and others have had numerous years of study with excellent teachers. Thus, goals and expectations will vary with the abilities and desires of the individual student. Basic technical and musical skills will be emphasized for those at the beginning and intermediate stages; advanced players will focus on literature.

Non-Music Majors are enrolled in PIA 101 (one-half hour lesson per week).
