Piano Studio Hour involves a variety of activities that enhance the experience of applied lessons:

• Performing in Studio Hour allows students to gain experience in presenting works before their peers in a "safe" environment.
  
  
• Practical information is presented concerning a variety of topics including tone, memorization, practice habits, and rhythm/tempo.
  
  
• Listening to recordings of important works provides for greater exposure to the piano literature; composers most recently featured were Debussy and Rachmaninoff.
  
  
• Students listen to recordings of great artists for a better understanding of performance traditions and for musical inspiration.
