EdFd 620 - Advanced Educational Technology

Presentation

1. Topic/presenters(s): Prepare a presentation about the application of one of the newer technologies.  Each topic for the class will be different.  Students may work in groups of up to four (4)  and a part of the grade will be assigned by the group.  Each member must be able to present any part of the presentation.  All must be involved in the preparation and presentation.

2.  Advertisement (Print visual): The presentation will be given to the class or other appropriate audience agreed upon by you and the instructor.  Use the principles of graphic design to advertise the presentation so that other interested persons may attend and benefit from your work.

3. Research: Prepare a research paper describing the research supporting the use of the application, current uses, and resources.  The paper should not exceed 10 pages with references.  There should be at least 10 references from current journals.  Other resources may be used.  At least half (5) of the resources should be based on research.  If done in a group, only one complete edited paper will be handed in as well as an IBM compatible disk with the paper saved in WordPerfect format.  Each student will receive with a copy of all of the papers.  This paper may include the articles summarized in assignment #4, the literature search.

4. Handouts (Word processing): Have a handout of the basic information presented. A computer presentation may be used but is not necessary.  It needs to be more than a print out of the presentation screens.

5. Presentation media: The basic information will be presented using a Power Point presentation, but variety of appropriate media should be used, including at least one newer technology.  This may be a demonstration of the topic, a student created video tape, multimedia presentation, hypermedia presentation, digital camera, audio presentation, or other types of newer technology (check with the instructor).

Each presentation will be on a different topic or at least different aspects of different topics.
