English Proficiency Exam Policy

In order to graduate students must satisfy the English Proficiency requirement in one of the following ways:

a. Pass Eng 249

b. Earn a grade of “B” or higher in HNRS 201 or in both Eng 111 (or 113) and 211 (or earn CLEP credit in Eng 111 (or 113) and a grade of “B” or higher in 211)

c. Earn a grade of “C” or higher in 281 at Harding.

d. Receive credit in Eng 111 and 211 at Harding through the Advanced Placement Program or International Baccalaureate Program.

e. Pass the English Proficiency Examination (EPE) after reaching junior standing. You many take this test only 4 times, and you may not take it after you earn 105 hours (unless they you have prior approval from Dr. Long)
