Department of Communication
“Media Production is an exciting opportunity for students to learn and develop production and performance skills that are highly valued in today’s media and digital world.” —Dr. Dutch Hoggatt
The Media Production major is one of the most versatile academic programs in the Department of Communication. Media Production builds on a foundation of video, audio, and broadcast skills and then provides more than 30 hours of electives to allow students to build a curriculum tailored to their needs and desires. Media Production majors gain production and performance skills working with the university’s television, radio, audio, and video facilities. Students are able to network with professionals through on-campus lectures, field trips, and internships. The Media Production major prepares students for successful careers in audio, video, broadcast, and digital media production. Career opportunities after graduation include audio, video, and digital production in production studios, broadcast stations, corporations, non-profit organizations, and public institutions. For more information on the major, visit our academic catalog.
