The Dottie Wright Endowed Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman who plans to major or minor in French. The scholarship amount is $300 per semester that the student is enrolled in a French class. Applications and supporting documentation are due in the foreign language office by May 1 and can be mailed to Box 12263, Harding University, Searcy AR 72149 or sent electronically to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students who major in Nursing and plan to complete at least a minor in Spanish may be eligible for the Booth Memorial Scholarship. Contact email@example.com for more information.

The federal government’s TEACH Grant offers $4000 per year to students who are pursuing a licensure degree in a high-need field (including foreign languages) or who plan to work in a low-income district for at least four years following completion of their degree. French and Spanish Licensure students are eligible.

Abogados de Accidentes Ahora offers a $5000 scholarship to Spanish-speaking students. Deadline to apply is December 31.
The Fontana Transport Inc. Scholars Program awards a $5000 scholarship to underrepresented, low-income and first-generation college students planning to study Spanish.
The Corinne Jeannine Schillings Foundation awards $1500 per year for undergraduate women who have earned the Girl Scout’s Silver or Gold Award and plan to or are pursuing a major or minor in foreign language at a four-year university. Students are eligible to reapply each year, for a total of $6000.
The Mickey & Ross Kelder Scholarship Trust awards scholarships for students in the State of Arkansas who are full time students and pursuing studies in foreign languages (whether or not as their college major) as un undergraduate or graduate student at a college or university. However, teaching foreign languages within the State of Arkansas shall not be a requirement or requisite to any scholarship award.Those who are planning to teach foreign languages within the State of Arkansas will be given preference to the scholarship awards. Applications will be accepted between January 1st and April 12th of each year.
SCHOLARSHIPS FOR STUDY ABROAD
The French African Flagship Language Initiative provides a full scholarship through the Boren Awards program to study French in Senegal for a fall semester. Students who are receiving federal financial aid in the form of a Pell Grant and who plan to participate in a semester abroad or in an international internship for college credit may wish to apply for the $5000 Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship. Interested students should contact the campus representative at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides $5000 to children of active duty service members who receive any type of federal financial aid. The scholarship is to be applied to a semester abroad or travel for an international internship for college credit.
