Clinics

The Department of Mental Health and Wellness provides counseling services to the community. The Mental Health and Wellness Clinic provides an opportunity for students in our programs to practice counseling under the close supervision of experienced counselors by serving a variety of clients and needs in our community. At these clinics students will learn firsthand what its like to be part of a counseling practice and will gain experience in clinical interventions, electronic record keeping, and fee collection as they prepare to enter the workforce.

Training through the clinic will give the interns exposure to clients with:

  • Persistent feelings of dissatisfaction
  • Problems with a child’s behavior, school adjustment or performance
  • Problems or concerns with sexual behavior
  • Problems with alcohol or drugs
  • Difficulties with anger, hostility or violence
  • Feelings of loneliness, moodiness, depression, sadness, failure, stress or anxiety
  • Family stress due to chronic illness or illness in which stress plays a major role
  • Difficulty talking with family members, friends or co-workers
  • Frequent financial difficulties
  • Difficulty in setting or reaching goals
  • Work difficulties, frequent job changes, problems with coworkers

The Mental Health and Wellness Clinic is part of Harding's Medical & Counseling Services offered to the Searcy community.
