Our Retail Pharmacy Internship Program focuses on developing not only your clinical skills, but also team building, interpersonal and pharmacy management skills in an environment that will expose you to all aspects of community pharmacy. Experiences in our program include antibiotic follow-up, community outreach, disease state topics, drug classifications, OTC product selection and counseling, vitamin/herbal review, and much more. Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH), a Magnet-designated, Level I pediatric teaching hospital, located in Little Rock, Arkansas, has an outstanding opportunity for a Pharmacy Director. ACH is among the largest pediatric hospitals in the nation. Morgan Hunter HealthSearch has been retained to conduct this key search.
- The facility is a Joint Commission-accredited, 1.2 million square foot, state-of-the art facility offering 336 beds, three intensive care units and supported by 505 physicians, 200 residents and 4,400 support staff. It is also known for the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute, a free-standing center, designed to investigate disease processes while developing treatments for infants, children and adolescents.
- Reporting directly to the Vice President of Clinical and Diagnostic Services, the Pharmacy Director will administratively plan, organize and direct all operations of the Pharmacy Department. He or she will coordinate the provision of optimal pharmaceutical care with available resources, while maintaning working relationship with College of Pharmacy to provide educational services. Collaborates with ACH leadership and medical staff and supervises Pharmacy Managers. The department (ASHP-accredited) has recently moved into a large, fully-remodeled space with updated equipment and adopted leading technologies, including Epic, DoseEdge and others.
- Ideal candidates will present with a minimum of a Bachelors of Pharmacy and three years of pharmacy management experience in a similar size setting. A Pharm.D., as well as an applicable Masters’ degree and meaningful experience in a pediatric environment, is preferred.
