The GAC is currently open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays. Please bring your ID.
If you can, please bring your own hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol). Since hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes are difficult to find right now, we ask that you bring your own hand sanitizer if you can. We have plenty on hand and are looking for more, but we will have to close down if we run out.
Requirements & Accommodations
Gym staff will be required to wear a mask while on the job. Gym patrons will be encouraged to wear a mask coming to and from the gym, but they will not be required to wear them while actively exercising. Maintain proper spacing from others by working out with 12 feet in between each person. This may require closing or moving some equipment.
Our locker rooms and showers will not be available. Participants will have to come wearing their workout clothes, and shower/change clothes when they get home. When we send out information about the gym guidelines and requirements, we will include this information.
Hand sanitizer should be available throughout the facility, but, if you can, please bring your own hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol). We have plenty on hand and are looking for more, but we will have to close down if we run out.
Staff should ensure that all exercise machines or equipment are sanitized after each use.
Each weight room has been measured to determine that 20 people can be allowed into the facility while comfortably maintaining proper social distancing. Using caution tape, every other piece of exercise equipment/machines has been blocked in order to ensure that gym patrons do not exercise next to each other.
No fitness classes or training sessions will be provided for the time being. This will be reevaluated when the Fall semester begins.
Screening must be completed on entry for all staff and participants. Those
who have any of the following characteristics should not be allowed to enter:
- Have returned from travel to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New
Orleans, or overseas within the last 14 days
- Have had fever of 100.4°F or greater in the past two days
- Have a cough, difficulty breathing, sore throat, or loss of taste or smell
