Harding Academy is family
Harding Academy’s Early Learning Center offers pre-K for 3- and 4-year-olds and provides a Christ-centered environment to learn, play and grow. With the view that the early childhood years are a foundational time to establish a love of God and excitement for education, the program creates a safe space for children to explore and develop.
Classes utilize play exercises that teach and reinforce spiritual, academic and social concepts. All of the teachers and aides hold degrees in education and use their knowledge and experience to create a developmentally appropriate environment for their young learners.
Through games, centers, lessons and other activities, teachers are able to focus on the class as a whole as well as individual students to make sure each child feels successful and confident, which helps them when they transition to kindergarten.
The pre-K provides an introduction for many to the Academy, and its students are quickly integrated into the entire school. Students participate in elementary chapel every day receive instruction from the school’s music, art and physical education faculty. From being partnered up with high school seniors and attending pep rallies, to visiting with Harding University football players through Bison Buddies and making trips to area senior centers, the pre-K is involved with the entire community.
Each classroom is centered upon teaching children to love God and each other through a variety of individualized activities. Every child is considered a unique individual and encouraged to progress at his or her own rate of development. Hands-on learning takes place through guided discovery and instructional activities.
Center times allow children the opportunity for choice play experiences in blocks, housekeeping, dramatic play, art, books, puzzles, science and discovery, music, and fine and large motor activities. Our classrooms are designed to engage children as they explore and grow in their understanding of God and their place in his world.

Do I have to be a member of the church of Christ?
While Harding Academy is affiliated with the church of Christ, the Academy is not only for members of the church of Christ. We hold firm to biblical principles and a love for Christ, and all are welcomed into that. A code of conduct is enforced for our students, which is to help us uphold our mission as well as to aid in our students' safety.
