The Art Minor (18 hours) is available for a variety of students needs, including those with a passion for visual art, but who also find themselves attracted to another major. The Art Minor provides the students with a studio drawing class and a design class where they gain fundamental drawing skills and a working knowledge of the language of art. The Art Minor includes 12 additional elective hours in art, selected from a wide range of studio and art history courses.
The Graphic Design Minor (21 hours) is available for students who desire the skills of a graphic designer, but are pursuing a major in another discipline. The Graphic Design Minor provides the students with two drawing classes, a two-dimensional design class, four graphic design classes, and an additional graphic design or color theory class. With these courses, the student will be comfortable working on graphic design projects, or communicating with professional graphic designers.
