COVID-19 Information

Academics

Classes are being delivered using the planned mode of delivery, which is either on-ground or online. Remote participation in an on-ground class is only being provided for students who are in quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19.

Masks are not currently required on campus; however, some locations and activities, by their nature, may require masks to be worn. The University may require masks in class if local transmission of COVID-19 in the Harding community is determined to be high.

Students with symptoms or exposure to COVID-19 should self-quarantine in their rooms, contact and follow guidance from Student Life, and complete a COVID-19 Screening Form to receive a phone call for further advice from Student Health Services. Learn more about what to do if you are exposed, develop symptoms or test positive for COVID-19.

Health-related absences are managed by each teacher according to their policy for excused absences which can be found in the class syllabus. Students should communicate with their teachers via email prior to missing class for a health issue. Illnesses necessitating an absence of greater than two consecutive class sessions may require physician/provider documentation.

Faculty will be available to students for help with class work and advising. Office hours can be conducted in person or remotely. Meetings by appointment may be more common than usual. Faculty may require that a mask be worn for in-person meetings in their offices.
