Educational Specialist in Professional Counseling: Clinical and School

What is the Educational Specialist in Professional Counseling Program?

The Ed.S. in Professional Counseling: Clinical and School is a natural next step after the M.S. in Professional Counseling: Clinical and School and in the Clinical Mental Health degree. Like the M.S. degree, the Ed.S. program aims to prepare intellectually sound, emotionally mature and highly competent counselors. If you want to effectively facilitate change in the lives of individuals in mental health and/or academic settings, the Ed.S. in Professional Counseling degree is for you. For more information about the Professional Counseling program, please visit their website.

What courses are required?

The Ed.S in Professional Counseling consists of 68 hours (48 from the M.S. + 20 additional hours). All candidates wishing to pursue the Educational Specialist degree must hold a master's degree in counseling or a related field. Additional leveling work may be required. Please see the curriculum plan for more information.
