NATIONAL COLLEGIATE HONORS COUNCIL

The National Collegiate Honors Council is made up of educational institutions, professionals, and students.  The purpose of NCHC is to promote honors education. Harding University’s Honors College participates in NCHC’s annual conference.  This year the conference was held in Seattle, WA.  Members of the Honors College as well as the Honors Council were chosen to represent Harding University along with Dr. Laurie Diles.  The cold and rainy Seattle weather didn’t keep the attendees from enjoying their time. Holly Larsen stated "In Seattle, we were able to come together with hundreds of other honors students and faculty to discuss key issues in Honors Colleges, such as how to engage and retain freshman, how to increase diversity, and how to build activities.  Hearing from many other universities was eye-opening, and it was exciting to see how much Honors programs vary from school to school."
