Geologist to present at Harding

On April 17, the University will be hosting David H. Johnston, a Registered Professional Geologist. His presentation, “Earthquake 101: Earthquakes in Arkansas,” will be given in the Heritage Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.

Johnston currently serves as the Earthquake Geologist for the Arkansas Geological Survey in Little Rock.  He has helped with the installment of seismic monitoring systems all across Arkansas and is working on the development of an Earthquake Center for monitoring seismic activity across the state.

Johnston will present an overview of earthquakes in Arkansas and the New Madrid seismic zone, which spans from Illinois to Arkansas. Admission is free and all ages are welcome.  For more information, call Dr. Ed Wilson at 501-279-4513.
