Welcome to the homepage of Jonathan White, Ph.D., P.E.  

I am the Director of the Computer Engineering program and I am an Asst. Professor in the Department of Engineering and Physics at Harding University.   I received my Ph.D. and Masters in Computer Engineering from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and my Bachelors in Computer Engineering, Mathematics, and Computer Science (triple major) from Harding.

My research interests include cyber security, mobile computing, green computing and low power circuit design.

My goal and aim is to promote knowledge and servant leadership through the study of computer engineering.

Recent Accomplishments:
  • May 2015 - Grant on Introducing Middle Schoolers to Engineering using Robots and Rockets funded by NASA for $13,400.

  • April 2015 - Grant on Integrating Females into STEM disciplines using Robotics was funded by Arkansas Dept. of Higher Education for $19,200.

  • April 2015 - Paper on Qualia Centric Hypothetical Thinking: Applications to Vehicle Tracking with the Fusion of EO and SAR Input Data Sources was accepted and published as a keynote presentation at the SPIE Cyber Sensing Conference in Baltimore, Maryland.

  • March 2015 - Led a group of Harding Engineering students on an engineering-focused mission trip to Dayton, OH.

  • March 2015 - Paper on Improving Vehicle Tracking Techniques using a Qualia Based Fusion of EO and SAR Radar was invited by and published by the SPIE Newsroom.

  • December 2014 - Grant on Introducing Engineering Design using Robotics funded for $116,000 by Arkansas Dept. of Higher Ed.

  • August 2014 - Paper on Social Network Attack Simulation with Honeytokens was invited by and published in the Social Network Analysis and Mining Journal by Springer.
  • Summer 2014 - Summer Faculty Visiting Researcher program participant with the Air Force in Dayton, Ohio performing research related to integrating radar and Google Glass.
  • February 2014 - Paper on Trusted Online Social Network (OSN) services with optimal data management was published in the Journal of Computers & Security, a leading journal in this area.
  • January/February 2014 - Received a Fulbright Specialist Grant from the US Dept. of State. I gave lectures and labs on the topic of Green Computing in Alchevsk, Ukraine. Final summary report is here.
  • January 2014 - Gave a day-long seminar on Computer Security for Engineers sponsored by Halfmoon Education for PE professional development in Arlington, Texas.
  • August 2013 - Game Theoretic Attack Analysis in Online Social Network Services received the best paper award at the ACM/IEEE FOSINT-SI 2013 conference in Niagara Falls, Canada.
  • August 2013 - Named director of Computer Engineering at Harding University.
  • May/June 2013 - Invited guest engineering lecturer at Yangtze University in Jingzhou, China.
  • April 2013 - Received my Arkansas Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • October 2012 - Received a Google Faculty Teaching grant in Cloud Computing.
  • September 2012 - Received a grant from the US Air Force Office of Scientific Research on Mobile Device sensors.
  • May to August 2012 - Summer Faculty Visiting Researcher program participant with the Air Force in Rome, New York performing computer security research.
