The Harding University Post Office, located on the first floor of the Hammon Student Center, provides mailing services on and off campus. It is run by a friendly staff dedicated to meeting your postal needs.

Federal Post Office Info...

The Federal Post Office at Harding University is a full service Contract Postal Unit (CPU). We provide all postal services including Express, global, priority, delivery confirmation, certified, registered, insured, mailing of letters/parcels, and Western Union money orders and money transfers.

Departmental charge mail will not be accepted after 3:45 p.m. Departmental mail requiring postage should be sorted according to U.S. or international mail to be metered at the CPU. The departments will be charged monthly for their postage expenses.

Campus Mail Info...

Campus Mail is the receiving area for all incoming first class mail and parcels for students, as well Harding University departments. Services provided are as follows:

  • Campus mail delivery
  • Processing of incoming and outgoing United States Postal Service (USPS) mail
  • Processing of incoming FedEx, UPS and DHL
  • Delivery of Departmental/group box mailings

Campus Mail Policy

  • The minimum size acceptable for each mail piece is 3 X 5 inches
  • All mail (with the exception of departmental mail) must have a return address (Box Number), name and box number of addressee
  • Candy, home baked goods, etc. must be in Ziploc bags or factory sealed containers/bags.
  • No liquids or glass containers will be accepted
  • No fruit, vegetables, or flowers will be accepted
  • Cards/paper with candy/objects taped or attached will not be accepted
  • Mailings in excess of twenty-five pieces should be submitted in box number sequence.
  • After a campus box is permanently closed, forwarding service will be provided for 90 days.
  • Campus mailboxes will not be utilized for mailing or receiving items for a personal business.


Campus Box Rental

  • Student boxes are assigned during Summer Experience or Registration. Anyone living in University Housing is required to have a campus box. Only spouses and children may share a campus box. Fees are billed by the Business Office through each student’s account.


Other Information

  • Mail Forwarding – If leaving for an extended time, other than regular breaks, students must report to the campus mail window and fill out a forwarding card.

The Mailing Center offers a valuable service to Harding University. We provide all types of mailing services to meet your needs. Our excellent staff and quality machines allow us to provide you with the following services:

  • Addressing
  • Barcoding
  • Materials processing - Folding/Inserting/Sealing/Tabbing
  • Sorting
  • Traying
  • Banding
  • Delivering your mailing to the Post Office

When planning a mailing, please take into consideration the time necessary for processing at the Mailing Center. Depending on the number of jobs previously scheduled, this time will vary.


Listed below is a summary of the types of mailings that we process at the Mailing Center. If you would like to find out more about a certain rate, or whether your mailing could qualify for a cheaper rate, contact the Mailing Center.

Presorted Standard

  • The mailing must be a minimum of 200 pieces.
  • Delivery time is approximately 2+ weeks.
  • Each piece must contain identical materials to ensure uniform weight: same envelope size, same materials inside envelope (e.g. one brochure and one letter in each envelope).
  • No pieces may be mailed to foreign countries, including Canada and Mexico.

Presorted Nonprofit Standard

  • The mailing must be a minimum of 200 pieces.
  • Delivery time is approximately 2+ weeks.
  • Each piece must contain identical materials to ensure uniform weight: same envelope size, same materials inside envelope (e.g. one brochure and one letter in each envelope).
  • The name above the return address on the outside of the mail piece must be that of Harding University.
  • No personal correspondence, travel advertisements, or insurance solicitations may be enclosed.
  • No pieces may be mailed to foreign countries, including Canada and Mexico.

Nonprofit Standard Mail is subject to postal inspection. The mail piece may be reviewed by the postal facility prior to acceptance to ensure that contents meet the eligibility requirements of Nonprofit mail. If the contents fail inspection, the mail will be sent as either regular Standard Mail or First-Class Mail.

Presorted First-Class

  • The mailing must be a minimum of 500 pieces.
  • Delivery time is approximately 1 week.
  • Each piece must contain identical materials to ensure uniform weight: same envelope size, same materials inside envelope (e.g. one brochure and one letter in each envelope).

First-Class

  • Delivery time is approximately 1 week.

Campus Mail

  • No postage required.
  • For delivery only to Harding University campus boxes.

Periodicals

  • Designed for newspapers, magazines, and other publications.
  • Must be published regularly at a stated frequency (at least four times a year) from a known office of publication.


The content and design of all university designed mail pieces should be cleared with the Public Relations Office at 501-279-4316. To ensure that your mailing meets the Nonprofit Standard Mail requirements, please contact the Mailing Center prior to printing the mail piece. We will review the contents to guarantee that it will qualify for the Nonprofit rate.
