Physician Assistant Program
Welcome to the information site for the Physician Assistant Program. This is a 28-month graduate program leading to a Master of Science degree (M.S.) in Physician Assistant Studies.
This is the first PA program in the state of Arkansas. At Harding we are very excited about the potential impact of this program on the local community, the people of Arkansas, and worldwide mission fields.
Our third class of PA students graduated on July 25, 2009. It was a very exciting time for them, their families and for us who have watched them develop into professional health care providers.
The Harding University Physician Assistant Program has 71 graduates since our inception in 2005. At this time, 40 of these graduates are licensed PA-Cs in the state of Arkansas.
Program graduates are practicing throughout Arkansas and 11 other states in a variety of settings including Primary Care, Urgent and Emergent Care, Orthopedic, Dermatology, Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, Rheumatology, Surgery specialties, Mental Health, Urology, and Pediatrics.
The graduating class of 2009 is finished taking their PANCE. The results are posted at the bottom of the FAQ page. Our results for this year are not 100%, but we are very proud of all of our graduates and the hard work that has been done.
The class of 2010 is half-way through their clinical experiences, already on their 4th rotation. They have transitioned well from classroom to clinical students.
As the 2nd semester begins for the the class of 2011 they have become pros at juggling the demands of classes and studying. They have continued the tradition of the previous classes of working together as a team for both classroom demands and recreation.
