Army ROTC

Train and prepare future commissioned officers

The mission of the Harding University Bison Detachment ROTC program is to train and prepare future commissioned officers for a successful career in the U.S. Army. Through leadership training and camaraderie among cadets, experiential learning and financial benefits, ROTC strives to help students earn college degrees while preparing them to be tomorrow’s leaders today.

Partnership with Arkansas State University

Harding’s ROTC program partners with the Arkansas State University Red Wolf Battalion (RWB) to recruit, retain, educate and develop senior ROTC cadets. With a focus on leadership and management, cadets gain leadership skills and participate in various training events and classes including rappelling, marksmanship, fitness, drill and ceremony, critical thinking skills, tactics, planning, and military history. As part of the Arkansas State University RWB, Harding also works closely with other partners including Arkansas State University-Beebe and Lyon College. ASU and Harding are working together to train and prepare future officers for success as they begin their careers serving in the U.S. Army on active duty, in the Army National Guard, or the U.S. Army Reserves.
