About Kristi Bond

Dr. Kristi Bond, chair of the foreign language department, has been at Harding since 2011. She holds a doctorate in Linguistics from the University of Kansas. She teaches Intermediate Spanish, along with classes in Spanish linguistics and teaching methods, and she advises Spanish majors as well as French/Spanish Education majors. Dr. Bond works with Global Outreach each year to train and lead student missions to Ecuador. She is the chair of the world language competition sponsored by the Arkansas Foreign Language Teachers Association, serves on the Arkansas Seal of Biliteracy committee, and is president-elect on the board of the national foreign language honor society, Phi Sigma Iota.

About Michelle Holland

Mrs. Michelle Holland, director of the Center for Translation, has been at Harding since 2003. She holds a Master's in Education from Harding, as well as a Master's in Translation and Interpreting Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Mrs. Holland advises Spanish majors and teaches Intermediate Spanish and courses in grammar and translation, including graduate-level courses leading to a Certificate in Translation. She mentors students through the Center for Translation and organizes the annual Make Every Word Count seminar.

About Genevieve Jones

More Information

Mrs. Genevieve Jones has been at Harding since 2008. She holds a Master's in Education from Harding. She teaches Intermediate Spanish, Cultures of Spain and of Latin America, Latin American Literature, and Medical Spanish. Mrs. Jones teaches advanced and intermediate conversation classes and intermediate-level speaking labs, and also provides one-on-one tutoring in conversation for both students and community members. Mrs. Jones is a native Spanish-speaker from Venezuela who also speaks Italian.

About Whitaker Jordan

More Information

Dr. Whitaker Jordan joined the department in 2014. He holds a doctorate in Hispanic Studies from the University of Kentucky. He teaches first-year classes, professional Spanish, and upper-level literature classes, and his research is in Golden-Age Spanish drama. Dr. Jordan advises both Spanish and International Studies majors. He also sponsors Harding's ultimate frisbee team and has helped train a Global Outreach mission team to Ecuador.

About Robert McCready

More Information

Dr. Robert McCready holds a Doctorat from the University of Toulouse. He joined the department in 2000 after spending twenty years as a missionalry in France. His classes include beginning and intermediate French, courses in French linguistics, conversation and culture, and professional French. He leads a study abroad program each year to French-speaking Europe, followed by mission campaigns. All French students are advised by Dr. McCready, and he co-sponsors the local chapter of Phi Sigma Iota Honor Society.

About Bonnie Kee

More Information

Bonnie Kee, Administrative Assistant and Academic Support Coordinator, speaks fluent French, having lived in Geneva, Switzerland. She operates the department's co-curricular program otherwise known as Culture and Language in Practice, provides conversation opportunities and teaches the intermediate-level speaking labs in French, and provides support for all department programs. She has also traveled with the department's study abroad program and mission trip in French-speaking Europe.
