Why study finance at Harding?

Performing Well

The CFA Research challenge is an international competition that simulates the real-world experience of equity (common stock) analysis. More than 1,000 universities participate in a semester-long project in which teams research, write and present a detailed investment research report on an assigned company. Harding teams have performed very well, winning three of the eight regional competitions in which they have competed.

Student Finance Association

The Student Finance Association is a campus organization that exists to promote understanding of the field of finance and to further student development by nurturing their finance interests and developing their professional skills. Monthly meetings bring together students and professionals who share their experiences in finance-related fields including banking, real estate, wealth management, insurance and investment analysis. Although the SFA is focused on the interests and needs of finance majors, involvement is open to any student.

Bison Asset Management

Bison Asset Management is a student-managed investment fund whereby select students manage a $1 million portfolio within the University’s endowment holdings. Under faculty guidance and oversight, students perform stock analysis that results in purchase and sale decisions by the group with the goal to beat the market averages on a risk-adjusted basis.
