Family Weekend 2021

We want to personally invite you to attend Harding Family Weekend, September 24 and 25. This weekend promises something for everyone and has grown into a special event that you do not want to miss! You are invited to attend classes with the students. Chapel begins at 9 a.m. on Friday in the Benson Auditorium. This is a great opportunity to bring prospective students and siblings of current students to campus and see what makes Harding so special. Check out the schedule tab for the other activities during the weekend. We look forward to seeing you and your family on campus.

Tickets

Tickets are available at the door of each event or at hardingtickets.com. You may purchase them when you arrive.

When you arrive on campus, stop by the Alumni and Parent Relations office in the David B. Burks American Heritage Building for refreshments.

Friday, September 24

When you arrive on campus, stop by the tent in the lobby of the David B. Burks American Heritage Building to check-in and let us know you are here. Refreshments will be served. 

8 a.m. - 4 p.m.   Attend Classes; You are invited to attend classes with your student. Come and see what the students are learning!  Has it been a while since you attended a college class?  Don't miss this opportunity! 

9 a.m. Chapel, Benson Auditorium. Chapel is one of the most important events that your student will participate in during his/her years at Harding. Come experience what makes Harding so special.

3 - 4:30 p.m. Harding History House Grand Reopening, backyard reception at 3 p.m. Explore the current exhibits: Harding: A History, The Story of Women for Harding, Elwin "Preacher" Roe and Harding Then and Now. 205 N. Lott Tucker Drive.

7 p.m. Illusionist Jason Hudy, Mesmerizing Magic, Administration Auditorium. $8 general admission, Harding students admitted with I.D. Tickets at hardingtickets.com or at the door.

9 p.m. Good News Singers Concert and Devotional, Benson Auditorium outdoor steps  

Saturday, September 25

9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Parent Network Breakfast, Cone Chapel, David B. Burks American Heritage Bldg. Reservations required. No charge to attend. 

10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Harding History House, featuring exhibits, Harding: A History, The Story of Women for Harding, -Elwin "Preacher" Roe, Harding Then and Now. 205 N. Lott Tucker Drive.

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Family Photos - available in a Harding Swing on the front lawn. $10 for two 5x7's. Other packages available.

Lunch on your own.  You may use your student’s meal plan or pay at the door in the cafeteria or dine in the Student Center food court.  Food trucks available at the tailgate. 

12 p.m. Lady Bison softball exhibition, softball field

1 - 5:45 p.m. Tailgate party and Food Truck Court at Bison Park under the pecan trees in front of the Ganus Activities Complex. Enjoy the music of Belles and Beaux, inflatable games and more.  Something for all ages. Bring your family. For details visit harding.edu/tailgateHU

2 - 3:30 p.m. Open House for Families - Men and women's dorms

3-7:30 p.m. "Harding Dining" Tailgate Dinner Service, Bison Park. Menu, BBQ Sliders, Fried Chicken Strips, Fried Okra, Chips, Cookies, Apples, and Drinks.  Adults $10, Children $6 (prices include tax). Families may use current student’s meal plan.

3:40 p.m. Walk of Brothers with Harding University Drumline— Cheer on the Bison football team in front of the Ganus Activity Complex

5:30 Thundering Herd Marching Band Tailgate Performance, Bison Park

6 p.m. -Bison Football vs. Quachita Baptist, First Security Stadium.  Be on hand for a Great American Conference matchup. Wear your black and gold and cheer for the Bisons. Tickets required.$15 reserved seats, $10 adults and $5 student general admission, on sale at hardingtickets.com.
