You only need the Free Application for Federal Students Aid (FAFSA) to apply for financial. After you submit the FAFSA, however, you may be asked to complete one of the forms below. Please do not submit these forms unless you are advised to do so by the Office of Financial Aid.
Some FAFSA forms are selected for a process called "verification", which requires students to submit additional documents to confirm the FAFSA was completed accurately. Harding University uses a software solution called ProVerifier+, powered by ProEd, to assist families in the online completion of the verification process. When a student's FAFSA is selected for verification, an email is sent to the student's assigned Harding email address containing a custom link necessary to create and authenticate the student's ProVerifier+ account. After account creation, students log on to the ProVerifier+ system at harding.proed.org to complete forms required for the verification process.
Parent Loan Eligibility Waiver Form Parents with financial hardship circumstances may complete this form to request waiver of their eligibility to obtain a Parent (PLUS) loan. If the waiver is approved, the dependent students may qualify for loan funding equal to that of an independent student. Examples of parent hardship circumstances may include the parent only receiving public assistance or disability benefits, or if the parent's income is below the published poverty guidelines. For information on the published poverty guidelines visit aspe.hhs.gov/poverty-guidelines. To complete the Parent Loan Eligibility Waiver enter the Parent's name and email address.
Special Circumstances Request Form Households with documented exceptional financial circumstances (for example, private school tuition paid, a job loss, excessive medical expenses, or changes in household size) may request a recalculation of financial aid eligibility by completing a Special Circumstances Request form. Please note that not all special circumstance requests, even if approved, result in actual changes to financial aid awarded. Therefore, families with exceptional financial circumstances should consult with a Financial Aid Counselor to assess the likelihood that their circumstances will result in an increase in financial aid eligibility before completing this form. Do not complete this form until instructed to do so by a Financial Aid Counselor. After a family has been determined to likely qualify for increased eligibility, the family will be instructed to complete all the verification process first (as described above) and then submit the Special Circumstances Request form with appropriate documentation.
