Track & Football Renovations

$7 Million Dollar Project

One of the most exciting aspects of this project is the impact on so many areas of campus and our students. The finished products greatly improve the facilities and enhance the opportunities for student-athletes in the track and football programs, intramural and club sports programs, student and community spectators and Harding Academy. This project expands Harding’s footprint with new facilities as well as improving existing facilities.

A New Track

track

A new track has been built at the end of Bison Lane and will be dedicated, Saturday, Sept. 16 during Parent Weekend. This location included a turf infield, equipped areas for field events, storage buildings and stands for spectators. As the track and football programs have grown over the years, it has become much more crowded and difficult to share their combined space. The new addition provides the track program with its own area for practice and meets.

A Renovated Football Field

The football field received new turf and was moved closer to the home stadium, creating a better home-field advantage for football games. The visitor stands also moved closer to the field. After the 2023 football season, this project will be completed with a new concession stand, restrooms and sidewalks and walls to enclose the stadium. A new weight room and training room will also replace the existing one that serves approximately nine other collegiate athletic teams. This project impacts students and athletes as well as spectators and community programs.
