The Harding academic program review procedure consists of a five-year cycle with defined activities each year.
Year 1: Institutional Planning and Program Review Self-study The self-study is a large scale document produced by the program's faculty which provides narratives and evidence for how the program meets a set of standards provided by the university.
Year 2: Analysis and Planning with Self-study Review During Analysis and Planning years, the program evaluates the results of past action plans using assessment data. The program creates new action plans for improvement for the coming year. In addition, during Year 2 the program's self-study is reviewed by a team of faculty from outside the program and the results of that review are included in the analysis and action planning.
Year 3: Data Collection During Data Collection years, the program collects assessment data from its courses with a particular focus on the area(s) from the action plans.
Year 4: Analysis and Planning During the second Analysis and Planning year, the program evaluates the results of Year 2's action plans using the data collected during Year 3 and creates new action plans.
Year 5: Data Collection During the second Data Collection year, the program again collects assessment data from its courses focusing on the action plan(s) from Year 4. This data will be reviewed during Year 2 of the next cycle.
