Clifton L. Ganus Sr.

Department of History and Political Science

Explore the past while examining the politics of today

The Clifton L. Ganus Sr. Department of History and Political Science provides a world-class curriculum grounded in faith that enables students to explore the social, cultural, and political events of the past, while examining how politics and government shape U.S. institutions and society today. Led by professionals in history and political science, students develop critical thinking and communication skills, conduct independent research, and immerse themselves in travel and internship opportunities. Our graduates emerge as informed, ethical citizens, well-prepared for careers in education, law, public policy, diplomacy, business, or military service.

Whenever you are on campus, please accept our invitation to visit our department located in the Holland-Waller Center. We currently offer Academic Programs in American studies, history, political science, public administration and social science. We also offer minors in history, political science and social science as well as a pre-law program. We look forward to meeting you and sharing further detailed information about our programs of study and how we can help you attain your educational and career goals.

Student Scholarship and Publications

Jointly produced by the Eta Phi chapter of Phi Alpha Theta and the Department of History and Political Science.
I teach traditions, our mistakes, our victories, and our values, in light of God’s sovereignty in the world because it is the most important thing any human can do. By making the past accessible, you make the present meaningful, and the future possible.
