Dr. Michael Justus

David E. Smith, M.D., M.A., HEC-C, is a clinician and educator who transitioned from 35 years in clinical cardiology to supportive (palliative) medicine in 2012. He holds a Master of Arts  in bioethics and taught the subject as an adjunct at Harding for 20 years. A certified health care ethics consultant, Smith serves on the advisory board for Harding’s Center for Health Care Ethics and Human Dignity. He is also a founding board member of the Haiti Christian Development Project. He lives in Little Rock with his wife, Linda, and they have three children and ten grandchildren.

 

Michael Justus M.D.is a 1974 graduate of Harding University and the University of Arkansas Medical School. For the past 40 years, he has worked as a family physician in Searcy and has been a frequent member of short-term medical mission teams, including work with Haiti Christian Development Project, founded by Dr. David Smith. Justus serves as an elder at the College Church of Christ in Searcy and as a member of Harding’s Board of Trustees. He has been married to his wife, Elaine (’74), for 51 years.
