Cliff Ganus earned a bachelor’s degree from Harding in 1966 and holds additional degrees from North Texas State University and the University of Colorado.

During his 52-year career in Harding's music department Dr. Ganus specialized in choral music, music history and hymnology; he also taught humanities courses in several of the University's overseas programs. He is the author of A Short History of Congregational Singing, which serves as the textbook for Harding's hymnology class.

He and his wife, Dr. Debbie Ganus, a licensed professional counselor, have four children and eight grandchildren.
