SUMMARY

Provides health coverage and direct medical care to students by executing established health care plans, administering medications, treating minor injuries, and responding to medical needs in alignment with school standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Performs basic health assessments, takes temperatures, treats minor injuries (cuts, scrapes, bruises), and administers emergency first aid or CPR as required.
2. Safely dispenses prescription medication strictly according to physician instructions and administers approved over-the-counter medications.
3. Follows individual student care programs, including established seizure action plans for diagnosed students during routine or emergency situations.
4. Contacts parents or guardians whenever a student is ill, injured, or receives medication.
5. Maintains clinic documentation, records administered medications, and upholds strict state, federal, and university standards regarding health record confidentiality.
6. Follows clinical safety procedures and protective equipment protocols while reinforcing hygiene and safety habits with students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must be active, engaged members of a church and demonstrate alignment with Harding University’s Statement of Faith. Preference will be given to candidates who are active, engaged members of a Church of Christ. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at a fully acceptable level. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Must be a licensed practical nurse with an active, unencumbered license to practice in Arkansas. RN preferred. Must possess current AHA BLS certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
• Moderate physical activity. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
• Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

SUMMARY

Provides short-term classroom supervision and instruction using established lesson plans while maintaining a safe, positive environment aligned with the school's Christian mission.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Delivers group and individual instruction following prepared lesson plans, adapting materials as needed for individual student needs.
2. Monitors students in classrooms, on the playground, during daily chapel, and on field trips as needed.
3. Enforces school policies and manages student behavior to maintain an optimal learning environment.
4. Assists with biblical instruction and supervises students during daily chapel.
5. Records attendance, documents daily classroom progress, and reports safety incidents to administration.
6. Works cooperatively with staff and communicate appropriately with parents while respecting student confidentiality.
