More than 3,000 Harding School of Theology alumni lead ministries across the nation and around the globe. They are ministers, professors, youth ministers, counselors, chaplains, campus ministers and a diverse group of community leaders. Whether you're a recent graduate or a student from decades ago, thank you for being part of the HST family

The annual Harding Lectureship HST Alumni Luncheon will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at noon in the Founders' Room of the American Heritage Building.  Free tickets for this event can be picked up at Lectureship Central while they last.

Congratulations to 2025 Alumnus of the Year, Allen Black!

Allen Black earned a Bachelor of Arts from Harding in 1974, a Master of Theology from Harding School of Theology in 1980, and a doctorate from Emory University in 1985. In 1983, he began 41 years of service as a New Testament and Greek professor at HST. Six of those years were spent serving as dean. Black also served as minister of adult education at Highland Street Church of Christ in Memphis from 1987-2024. Among his writings are two commentaries in the College Press NIV New Testament Series, one on the Gospel of Mark and one on 1 Peter. He was selected based on his influence on generations of HST students, the quality of his scholarship, service to the church and devotion to his family. He and his wife of more than 50 years, Nancy, have two daughters, Amy Thomas and Stacey Stewart, and four grandchildren.

HST alumni retain borrowing privileges from the library.  If alumni live too far from campus to visit the library regularly, they may request books be sent by mail and/or articles by email by filling out the Library Materials Request form.  Alumni also have access to ATLA Serials® (ATLAS®) (an online collection of full-text articles), OverDrive (an online book and audiobook collection). T&T Clark Theology Library, Anchor Bible Commentaries, Anchor Bible Dictionary, and RightNow Media (a streaming video library of Bible studies and kid's programs).  Please visit the link for more information.

The Hogan-Cate Asian Missions Endowment honors the missionary efforts of Steve and Jeannie Cate in Indonesia and Gordon and Jane Hogan in Singapore. The endowment was established by the Tabalujan family in celebration of Tine and Carlo Tabalujan’s 60th wedding anniversary.

Each year, the endowment funds a sabbatical for an outstanding male or female missionary, church worker or ministry leader based in an a cappella church of Christ in Asia, including East and North Asia, South East Asia, South Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and the South Pacific.

The three-to-five-month sabbatical commences each August. Funds could cover airfare, housing on campus, food, transportation, tuition for audit or credit courses, Christian counseling, and visits to churches and ministries in and around Searcy, Arkansas. Applications are due January 15 of the year for which the sabbatical is sought. Submit applications to Dr. Peter Rice, dean of Harding School of Theology, at price1@harding.edu. A committee will review all applications and award the grant by January 31.

The sabbatical recipient is also expected to participate in Harding’s Inspire: Lectureship (conducted in the fall of each year) and other special events for spiritual renewal and to promote missions in Asia.
