Provost Office

As the chief academic office of the University, the Provost Office is entrusted, by the President, with the responsibility to administer the academic programs and the faculty of the University.

It is Harding's mission to teach our students to integrate faith, learning and living successfully by providing an excellent academic foundation. Our faculty seeks to teach and demonstrate to students how to integrate faith into what they are learning for the profession they seek to join.

In collaboration with the academic deans and chairs, the Provost Office evaluates and develops the academic curriculum, continually assessing majors to ensure our students are well prepared as they graduate and enter the workplace.

Global Perspective Requirements

In recognition of the interrelatedness of world cultures and the Christian mission of worldwide evangelism, the global perspective requirement ensures that a liberal arts education includes the development of skills, knowledge, or dispositions that will help students interact meaningfully with the world, specifically beyond the borders of the United States. The range of skills and content knowledge applicable to this category suggests that the general goals of global perspective may be met in a variety of ways through a combination of courses listed in the catalog.

The global perspective requirement is waived for all international students. Other students who wish to apply for a waiver of the global perspective requirements (on the basis of extended residence abroad, for example) may have their appeal considered by the Global Literacy Committee.

To submit a waiver request the student must:

  1. Log into Pipeline.
  2. Select the Student bar.
  3. Select the Student Records block.
  4. Select the Global Perspective Waiver Request under the "Appeals" section.
  5. Complete the form, and press "Send Letter."

You should receive a reply to your request for waiver within one business week.
