    GOLD Program

The Gateway for Onboarding Learners of Distinction (GOLD) Program is intended to guarantee highly qualified students a position in the College of Pharmacy Pharm.D. program after the successful completion of prerequisite courses and maintenance of certain academic criteria at Harding University or an affiliated college or university.

To be eligible for the College of Pharmacy’s GOLD Program, students must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be enrolled/accepted to Harding University or a GOLD partner school for prerequisite coursework
  2. Attain specified measures of academic achievement
  3. Apply for admission to GOLD by emailing pharmacy@harding.edu between January of the senior year of high school and December of the sophomore year of undergraduate studies
  4. Complete a successful GOLD interview with the college of pharmacy

  • Harding University
  • Crowley's Ridge College
  • ASU Beebe

Once admitted to the GOLD, a student must meet the following academic requirements in order to successfully matriculate into the Pharm.D. program:

  1. Complete all math and science prerequisites at a GOLD partner school. 
  2. Attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 in all coursework, and a math and science GPA of 3.00.
  3. Apply to HUCOP through PharmCAS by February 1 before beginning the PharmD program in June.
  4. Begin the PharmD program no later than four years after beginning pre-pharmacy coursework. 
  5. Adhere to the Code of Conduct at the respective partner school. 
  6. Meet with a HUCOP faculty advisor once per semester (in person or via Zoom).

Completion of these requirements:

  • Guarantees a student admission to the Pharm.D. program. Students who do not achieve all requirements remain eligible to apply for admission to HUCOP without guaranteed admission.
  • Qualifies the student for a scholarship the first year. This scholarship is available for renewal in remaining years by maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, participating in one or more pharmacy professional organizations, and adhering to the HU Code of Conduct and HUCOP professionalism standards.
