Accreditation

Our education programs are all recognized and approved by the Arkansas Department of Education and our graduates who complete all requirements are eligible to receive a license from the state of Arkansas. This license will be recognized per reciprocal agreements with other states.

CACREP Accreditation

CACREP accreditation signals that a program’s content and quality have been evaluated and meet strict, consistent standards set by the profession. Choosing a CACREP-accredited program also means the curriculum contains the academic knowledge necessary for professional licensure in many states.

CACREP-accredited programs assure students—and the public they will one day serve—that a program’s curriculum includes appropriate counseling coursework and skill development. It also ensures that the program is stable, both professionally and financially.

Benefits of graduating from a CACREP-accredited counseling program include:

  • Access to more employment opportunities.
  • An advantage when applying to doctoral degree programs.
  • A streamlined state counseling licensing application process.
  • The skills and credibility to maximize your impact on the counseling profession.
  • The opportunity to sit for the National Counselor Examination (NCE) exam prior to graduation.

Transparency in Performance

The Cannon-Clary College of Education is committed to providing evidence on the quality of our educator preparation programs.  This section provides information regarding state licensure test pass rates, completer GPA trends, graduation/retention rates, initial licensure completer placement rates in Arkansas public schools, case study summary of completer impact in K-12 classroom, survey results, and loan default rates.

In addition, the Cannon Clary College of Education is annually required to provide federal reports on program completers and currently enrolled candidates (Title II) and the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education also requires the annual EPPQR (Educator Preparation Provider Quality Report).
